Happy New Year, Fab Fashionistas!!
2017 was an eventful year for me. I got married to my best friend and became a stepmom to an amazing little girl. Between the cake tastings, calls with vendors, stuffing invitations, etc. I just didn’t have the time to devote to my blog like I wanted to throughout the wedding planning process. I do believe in the phrase “better late than never”, and now that I’m officially a married woman, I think its important to reflect on it all, so I plan to kick off the new year right and do a series of wedding posts, starting with my post below about my bridal shower!
The shower was a bubbly brunch at my parents house in Madison, WI and the theme was “Pop the champagne, I’m changing my last name!”
Pictured above are photos from the shower of how we worked the theme in. The sign on the left and tank top are from Etsy. The sign in the middle I made from a banner I found at Target and Gold Sticker Letters. We had a mimosa bar set up on the table beneath so guests could pour their champagne and pick their own juice and fruit toppings! We also had cute invitations and paper plates.
I wore a dress from The Lilly White Dress Collection from Lilly Pulitzer. I absolutely adored this dress and I was even able to wear it again on our Hawaii honeymoon (see 2nd photo below).
For the shower, I accessorized the dress with some fun hot pink pumps I found at Aldo. My MOH also got me a really cute personalized veil and sash. I’m not sure the exact set she got but theres tons of them on Etsy. You can find almost anything for weddings on Etsy…seriously! Keep it bookmarked if you’re an engaged lady.
We also had a cute DIY photo booth set up and some fun letter balloons!
My mom made a delicious egg dish and we had bagels and hash browns. Of course there was cake too!
We played a newlywed game, and another game where guests got points for items they had in their purse. We also marked the bottom of one plate and the guest who had it, got a prize. Pinterest is a good place to find game ideas if you’re planning a shower too.
It was such a good time celebrating with friends and family. They truly made me feel like a very special bride!
