Its been awhile since I have posted. I have had my hands, particularly my left ring finger, a little full.
Yup, thats right I AM ENGAGED!
I knew the proposal was coming, but didn’t know when it would happen. Matt and I had gone to look for rings awhile ago and I knew he had asked my dad for my hand in marriage, so it was just a waiting game!
He popped the question one weekend when his daughter, Madeline, was staying us. Matt took her to the “grocery store” (really they went to get the ring). When they came home, she stormed into the house pretending something was wrong. Matt said they got in an argument at the store and he asked me to take her on a walk to calm her down.
So thats how it happened. Now I know you all want to know….what does the ring look like?!?
Well, when we initially went to look for rings I was thinking I might like a solitaire band. Something classic and simple like this:
But when I tried it on, I realized I was looking for something with more detail and character.
I also tried a three-stone ring like the one below:But when I looked at myself in the mirror, I wasn’t quite feeling it. I would say thats an important tip for ladies who are ring shopping! If you fall in love with a ring, look at yourself in the mirror to see how it looks in full view. It can be very different when you are looking at your own finger.
In the end I fell in love with a halo design and small diamonds around the band. Here are pictures from our engagement session taken by the lovely Mollie Tobias:
And heres a shot of the ring on my finger in front of the aisle I’ll be walking down at Old House Vineyards in September!
