As a “Beauty Insider” at Sephora, I came across Marc Jacobs Le Marc Lip Creme when I redeemed my 100 beauty reward points for a mini lipstick.
I had been on the hunt for a good lipstick for awhile and had previously tried the “Give me some lip” set of Sephora favorites but I was disappointed with the bland colors, none of which worked great with my light complexion.
Inspired by Taylor Swift`s “Red” album I also went through a phase of trying bright reds (C`mon have you seen the Blank Space video? you really can`t blame me! )
Worse yet, I even tried a hot pink to wear occasionally (I blame Nicki Minaj for that one.) In both cases I didn’t want to spend much on bright reds and pinks given that they aren`t exactly every day colors so I got cheap brands from the drug store. Thats when I learned theres a reason good lipstick is expensive – its all about how it applies and how it wears off. These were messy and constantly had to be reapplied because they didn`t wear well so my T-Swift and Nicki Minaj days didn’t last long.
All of this is to say, I didn`t have high expectations when I got my mini Marc Jacobs lipstick but when I tried it for the first time I was pleasantly surprised. I love the color, which is promiscuously named “Kiss Kiss Bang Bang”. its definitely noticeable but not distracting.
It also applies nice and thick so it stays fresh for quite some time. The mini lipstick actually lasted me awhile and when I ran out, I went back for the full size, which costs $30 at Sephora. I now wear this lipstick pretty much every day and get compliments regularly. I will definitely be buying it in other shades as well!
Fab Fashionistas do you have a favorite lipstick brand to recommend?
